·    The law firm consults with disabled and elderly individuals to create a comprehensive plan to protect their assets while preserving their  eligibility for government benefits.

The law firm drafts special needs trusts for parents who want to provide for their disabled children in their estate plan.

The law firm drafts special needs trusts when disabled individuals receive a personal injury settlement or receives an inheritance.

 

Experience

 

Ms. Isenhour graduated from the University of Washington School of Law in 1973.  She was a  VISTA volunteer from 1973 to 1974  and then a staff attorney with Legal Services in Seattle Washington for 24 years.  While at Legal Services, Ms. Isenhour specialized in government benefit issues for the elderly and disabled.  She worked extensively with individual clients and advocacy groups for low-income elderly and disabled individuals.

 

In 1996 Ms. Isenhour and another staff attorney at Legal Services, Sean Bleck, formed their own law firm.  They continue to specialize in legal issues for the elderly and disabled.  Their practice includes estate planning, asset protection planning and Medicaid eligibility, and drafting special needs trusts for disabled individuals.  

 

Ms. Isenhour is a frequent lecturer at seminars for the Washington State Bar Association, the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association, and advocacy groups on issues regarding government benefits and special needs trusts.  She has taught as an adjunct professor at the Seattle University School of Law on Elder Law and has written several articles for professional groups on government benefit issues for the elderly and disabled.

 

Activities

 

Ms. Isenhour is a member of the Elder Law Section of the Washington State Bar Association, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Seattle Estate Planning Council.  She has been a board member for several years of ElderHealth Northwest, a nonprofit home health agency.  She is also a passionate baseball fan.
